Women's Urinal
Case study 1
A product development project redesigning the Peequal women’s urinal system to improve usability, manufacturability, and logistics efficiency while maintaining strong user acceptance. The work progressed from early concept development through prototyping, detailed CAD design, and supplier selection across UK and overseas manufacturers. The redesigned system has now been launched, improving shipping efficiency by 56% per truck, with a UK patent application filed covering key innovations.
Role & Contribution
Led mechanical design from concept to production, developing a fully manufacturable product. Multiple concepts were iterated to balance usability, cost, and manufacturing constraints. Full system CAD was built in SolidWorks, resolving interfaces across parts and sub-assemblies.

Physical prototypes were developed and tested to validate key decisions around user interaction, geometry, and assembly approach. The design was refined based on feedback to improve usability and manufacturability.

Supplier research and evaluation across 25+ manufacturers led to selection of a production partner and transition into manufacture. The design was then refined during tooling and early production to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.
